Hello Local Guides! :waving_hand:

I’m @Papel_Mahammud , proudly representing Old Dhaka Bangladesh and an active member of the Google Local Guides program since 2019.

Contributing to Google Maps has become one of my favorite hobbies. Over the years, I’ve contributed 8,600+ photos and 1,400+ videos to Google Maps, helping people discover and learn more about local places and businesses.

As a dedicated member of Bangladesh Local Guides (BDLG), I regularly participate in community meetups and have also hosted several meetups under the BDLG banner.

This time, I’m excited to invite you all to my 3rd personal meetup!

:person_walking: What We’ll Do

We’ll start our walk from Rankin Street, Wari (in front of Aarong – Wari Branch) and walk towards Jai Kali Temple Mor, while working together to improve the quality and accuracy of Google Maps.

During the meetup, we’ll focus on:

:camera_with_flash: Photo Contributions

  • Upload photos of local businesses and restaurants
  • Capture useful and informative photos for Google Maps

:movie_camera: Video Contributions

  • Upload videos of local businesses and restaurants
  • Add helpful visual information for Maps users

:wheelchair_symbol: Accessibility Information

  • Find and verify wheelchair accessibility information
  • Update accessibility details through Questions & Answers and reviews

:world_map: Map Editing & Improvement

  • Report spam or incorrect information
  • Update business names, opening hours, and other details
  • Add missing phone numbers
  • Correct inaccurate map pin locations
  • Add missing places and businesses
  • Identify and suggest other useful map improvements

:busts_in_silhouette: Who Can Join?

Everyone is welcome!

Whether you are completely new to Google Maps or an experienced Local Guide, you are invited to join us.

You don’t need to be an expert in map editing. This meetup is a great opportunity to learn, contribute, explore Wari, and connect with fellow Local Guides.

:mobile_phone: Before You Join

Please make sure to bring:

  • :mobile_phone: A fully charged smartphone
  • :globe_with_meridians: Sufficient mobile data
  • :battery: A power bank, if possible
