In-N-Out Burger

In-N-Out is by far my favorite burger chain in the West Coast. Every time I go to California, I always stumble upon one of these.

One of the great things about In-N-Out is that they take their motto seriously.

“Quality you can taste” sits up on the wall in neon lights at every In-N-Out location. This isn’t a motto as much as it is a mantra.

For starters, In-N-Out does not provide any franchising opportunity. It remains a privately owned company to avoid sacrificing the quality of their food for the sake of more locations across the United States. Those few-and-far-between markets, meanwhile, are mandated to be near one of In-N-Out’s two distribution facilities (one in Baldwin Park, CA and the other in Dallas, TX). That way all the ingredients can be delivered by truck to each location, eliminating the need to ever freeze any of their products. Couple that with the fact that no location is outfitted with a freezer or a microwave and In-N-Out stands above its fast food brethren in terms of putting out high-quality, fresh food.

I also like the fact that In-N-Out keeps it simple and efficient with a seemingly limited menu: Hamburger, Cheeseburger, or two-patty Double-Double; French fries; and a shake or a soda to drink. But, being light on choices doesn’t equate to In-N-Out’s menu being limited in options.

Have you ever tried In-N-out?

Ohh @linabeth I miss In-N-Out so much! And I’ve only gone once  I went there on November 2019, but it was great and I could really taste the quality you’re describing. No other fast food restaurant in the US that I’ve tried matched that quality. I do like the classic menu they have, it gives it a nice vibe. I do hope I can try their monster fries and secret menu someday though, I didn’t know about them when I went!

Thank you for reminding me about this awesome place, and for sharing this post.

I think @PaulPavlinovich likes it too! And he actually tried the monster fries  :yum:

Hi @linabeth and thanks for the tag @Jesi I’ve tried everything from the secret menu at In-N-Out and yes I love their burgers. For me its a bit of a toss up between In-N-Out and Five Guys on which makes the better burger. In-N-Out keep teasing us with popups in Australia but seemingly has no intention of opening permanently where as Five Guys are in the process of opening here.

Whenever I’m in the Bay Area I usually manage to get to In-N-Out at least once :).

Googler @TraciC loves In-N-Out too.

Ohh, drool! Like @Jesi , I miss In-N-Out! It’s the best burger I can get while on the go and I always get a cheeseburger with onions and animal style fries. Those aren’t for the faint of heart or those who don’t like to get messy. @PaulPavlinovich is right, I LOVE IT! :slightly_smiling_face:

Glad to see you back on Connect, @linabeth !

As @Jesi , @PaulPavlinovich , and @TraciC have shared, In-N-Out is a definitive Local Guide favorite and has been the setting of many post-Summit and post-Connect Live days. Many great times here and of course that limited yet high-quality menu is always a part of those memories. While I don’t consume beef anymore, I remember my first In-N-Out experience back in 2013 being pretty amazing and it was easy for me to see why they have such a following. While many wish they would spread out more across the States, I also think it isn’t worth it considering it may take a hit on the quality.

@SP31 Thank you! Yes I agree that if In-N-Out spreads throughout the country, the quality of food might be different.
