I'm trying to add bus lines in my home city map

Last month I came back to my home town called São Bernardo do Campo in São Paulo. Normally I use to use a car to go around everywhere and I confess that I don’t remember using public transportation since I was a kid. But at this time I had to use the bus.

My first thought when going back home was “OK let’s google it”. Then I notice that GoogleMaps was showing just a few lines/routes available. It’s not a lack of buses in the city, I know. It was weird. I recognized that all the options available were inter-municipal transportations, as we call in Brazil. It means: only buses traveling from one city to the other were available. Buses from my city weren’t there :disappointed:

This problem can affect many people who don’t actually live in the city. If you are a tourist, or like me you had to leet your car at home, you won’t see the best route to your destination.

I searched here in connect for some advice and I found this: https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Feedback-and-Feature-Requests/Lacking-bus-information/m-p/279630#M13094

I seem that I have to contact the bus company, maybe the city hall, and ask them to contact Google. It’s important to note that city’s official website already has bus lines, destinations and live locations available on their website. I hope it to be simple to solve and help many other leaving in São Bernardo do Campo.

Hi @RogerOhayashi ,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Currently, Local Guides can’t add new bus routes to the map. For now, only Google is doing this kind of edits through the Base Map Partner Program. For more details please check this link.

Also, have in mind that the company that runs the buses needs to become a “transit partner”. You can click here for more information regarding this topic.

P.S.: I will move your post to the How-tos board, used by Local Guides to make questions of this type or express their doubts.
