This negative criticism is NOT directed towards the golf portion of Minnewasta Golf & Country Club.
This restaurant is dreadful. The food, even simple dishes such as a breakfast with eggs and toast takes FOREVER to come out. I ordered a bowl of fruit before I had a tee-time, and had to cancel it because it was not out after 20 minutes. I have also experienced this on many different occasions, so it has been given many times to redeem itself, but it, unfortunately, hasn’t. The food is also way too expensive for the portions you receive (I ordered spinach dip and got 6 pieces of pita for it and was charged extra when I asked for more).
This restaurant has a bad reputation around town for its horrible service, but I do not think the servers or kitchen staff are to blame. I believe that there is a lack of training and a lack of staff when it comes to this restaurant. During ladies night, there should be WAY more people working to ensure that everyone gets the food they ordered in a timely manner. Other courses do not have this issue, so why does this one?
I would like to send a huge thanks to the staff there for remaining calm with all of the complaints, and for trying to fix them the best they can. I do not want to put any of them down, as it is not their fault, it is simply an error in management.
The only positive I can think of is the great view that you can have while you drink your water and wait for your food.
