I’m a Bermuda foodie and Superhost!

Without a doubt, my favourite posts to contribute as a Local Guide in Bermuda are about restaurants and all places food related!

I am a huge foodie – I think I may have missed my calling as a food critic – or as a professional taste-tester!

I love sharing information not only about the food itself, but about the restaurant atmosphere and the overall vibe… is there a beautiful view to enjoy while you eat? Is the restaurant family-friendly? Are the food prices reasonable? Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible? I feel strongly that these are very important tidbits of information to share with the World… especially since I am involved in the operation of an Airbnb guest accommodation in Bermuda!

I am so fortunate to meet many wonderful visitors from all over the World through the guest cottage rental, and as an Airbnb Superhost - and as a Certified Tourism Ambassador of Bermuda (CTA) - it is incredibly important to be knowledgeable about restaurants and interesting places island-wide… to be better able to answer guest queries and to point visitors in the right direction. Being a Local Guide and contributing to Google Maps along the way is a fun part of it, and just one more way to share my Local Guide expertise!

We are traveling to Bermuda end of August. We don’t like the beach I heard the mini golf isvgreat how would I get there from where the boat docks? What about the little electric small cars are they safe? What else would you recommend

Hi there!

Glad to hear that you are Bermuda bound in August

If your cruise ship is coming into the Hamilton port, the #7 and #8 buses travel from Hamilton to Dockyard where the mini golf is located, but another easy and great way to travel from Hamilton to Dockyard is the blue route ferry… there are beautiful sights along the way.

If your cruise ship is coming into the St. George’s port, the #10 and #11 buses will take you from St. George’s into Hamilton where you can then transfer to the #7 or #8 bus to get out to Dockyard, or again, you can catch the blue route ferry from Hamilton to Dockyard. Also, there is a ferry that operates from St. George’s to Dockyard, but you should check weather and times while you are here for that one.

If your cruise ship is coming into the Dockyard port, then you will be just a short walk (or a quick Dockyard train ride) away from the mini golf!

The Twizy mini-car rentals are fun and a safe, independent way to travel around the island… keeping in mind that we drive on the left-hand side!

There are many things to do and see in Bermuda… the Aquarium, the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI), Hamilton food tours (https://www.bermudafoodtour.com/), renting your own pontoon boat (or paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, etc.), the Maritime Museum, swimming with the dolphins, various mini cruises (snorkelling cruises or glass-bottom boat cruises or sailing cruises or sunset cruises, even boose cruises), Hidden Gems tours, special evening events (not swimming) at some of the beaches with live music, food and cocktails (Tobacco Bay in St. George’s for example or Rumbum Beach Bar at Horseshoe Bay), the Crystal Caves, the lighthouse in Southampton, sampling local goodies (a Bermuda fish sandwich - on toasted raisin bread with tartar sauce, Rum Swizzle, Dark-n-Stormy, peas and rice, wahoo fish, etc.) and various other activities and attractions which you can find information on at www.gotobermuda.com

I hope that you enjoy your Bermuda vacation!! May it be Bermuda-ful!
