I love to travel!

In 2016 I traveled to Egypt, and it would have to be one of the highlights of my life.

I climbed inside the Great Pyramid, and visited many ancient temples. The cruise on the Nile River was also spectacular, and the museum was awesome.

I can’t wait to travel back again!

Thank you @AngieYC !

I’m new, so grateful for your advice.

Egypt was wonderful - I’m going back at some stage.

The inside of the pyramid was awesome. When you sit and reflect in the King’s chamber, you can feel the antiquity. The ancient Egyptians had such knowledge, it’s very inspiring.

The other absolute highlight was going into the tomb of Tutankhamun and also seeing his mummy which was on display in there. You can’t help but be inspired.

Hi @Avraham_Jurado !

Yes, it was very hot! I went early October, but next time I will try and go early in the year like January when it is supposed to be a little cooler.

Well worth a visit!

Hi @DonnaWatts and thank you for the tag, @AngieYC!

Egypt really does leave a long-lasting impression and a feeling of excitement no matter how soon or long ago you visited it!

It was a childhood dream of mine to see the pyramids and the magnificent temples. So I also signed up for a cruise along the Nile!

Which cities and temples did you visit, @DonnaWatts?

One of the most impressive structures for me was the Temple of Isis perched on its island right off Aswan city.

And how about the spectacular techniques the ancient Egyptians used to carve their hieroglyphs and images of kings, pharaohs, gods, and goddesses? Just jaw-dropping!

By the way, how did you manage to take such a great photo of the Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple? It was completely crowded when I was there!

Hi @DeniGu !

Yes, like you, I had always dreamed of going to Egypt so it was fantastic to be able to go.

We went to quite a few temples. Luxor, Karnak, Queen Hatschepsut, Edfu, Kom Ombo, and the Temple of Isis. They were all beautiful, but my favourite was the Temple of Edfu. That having been said, the Temple of Isis was also very spectacular, especially when you first approach it!

I think we were quite lucky when we went as tourists had not started fully going back to Egypt, and so we didn’t have huge crowds everywhere, although there were still quite a few people!

We stayed in Cairo, travelled to Luxor and boarded the cruise on the Nile and that took us three days to get to Aswan, doing tours along the way.

I didn’t get to see Alexandria or Abu Simbel so they will definately be on my list for next time!

You have some great photos!

I think I had the exact same itinerary, @DonnaWatts , just the other way around–from Aswan to Cairo! :))

The Temple of Edfu was definitely quite impressive, too. How did you reach it from the cruise ship? I got to experience the traditional local transportation method–a horse-drawn carriage.

I’m curious to read more about your adventures!
