I love to contribute missing information + The best Ice Cream in the World

Hello Everyone,

Who am I?

I’m Bruno, a 27 year old Brazilian, who currently lives in Passo Fundo, but was born in Taquara, Rio Grande do Sul (Southern Brazil). As I’m applying to Local Guides Connect, I created this post to be able to introduce myself and also to answer Google’s question:

What I love sharing on Google Maps?

I really like to contribute with business information, like time tables, address, photos and reviews, because to me that’s one of the ways that a local guide can help to bridge the world between physical and virtual. Sometimes I visit places here where I live, which are not even created on Google Maps, because they’re either too small or the owner has no idea how to do it. Being able to correct, add, remove, and update information is a great way to help not only those who are searching, but also those who are being searched.

The best ice cream in the world was missing from Google Maps

OK, so if I got you here you must be thinking, that’s impossible! The best Ice Cream in the world can’t be in Brazil, it should be in USA, Italy or anywhere, but certainly not in Southern Brazil. I’m sorry to say to you, but it is there and it is in my home town. And the worst part is not even that, believe!

The worst part is that the palce did not even exist on Google Maps a couple of years ago. Once I noted it I had to repair this, so I submited it and it was created a few days before. As now (March 2019), It already has almost a hundred reviews and many photos.

Why this have everything to do with the Google Local Guides Community

Of course it’s not the best ice cream in the world (or maybe it is?), but that’s not the point, because to the people that live in Taquara it’s the best ice cream of their world, and that’s what I guess is worth sharing. To this community, this is important and was missing. That’s what I love most in being a local guide, to be able to give a little of my community and my point of view to a community which has already given me so much in my travels. In the end I guess is all about sharing and experiencing the world as viewed by someone else, in this case, by the eyes of locals.
