Hi Local Guides,
Back in 2020 when we were largely confined to our own homes Point Click Guide was born, it started with a series of interactive lessons on photography (link in my sig) and it morphed into a grand social occasion where a group of Local Guides would meet each month to learn something from each other about photography but also to grow socially.
Well, I have a bit of an idea, now that most of us are able to travel around again at least locally and often our local places have become forgotten during the years of social deprivation brought on by Covid-19. Those local places now need our help. Sydney Local Guide @PennyChristie and I are starting a new series that will take you places, you could say to see the things worth seeing and find the things worth doing. We’ve got plenty of places up our sleeve and intend to produce short episodes periodically - in fact the first episode is out right now PCG Episode 1 - Puffing Billy Museum which is a train museum that I often help out with.
We intend to feature the local places we love that need a little love from others to survive. Our intention is to spread the word about things local to us. That is where you come in… we need to know about what is local to you! Would you like to feature in an episode? You can be your own local Guiding Star. All you need is your phone that can record 1080p video and a place that you love. This isn’t going to be fancy, its going to be about us and the places we’re passionate about. You need NO video editing skills - just shoot it, keep it as stable as you can with the best light that you can and I will give you a place to upload to. We’re aiming at 5 to 8 minutes per episode including the introduction. I will do the editing and we’ll produce an episode. Penny and I will introduce you then you take over and tell us about your place and why its important and what its features are.

- Tourist attractions
- Local beach
- Record store
- Ice cream shop
- Market
- Street food
- Imagination

I have some more ideas for this, but lets start with this and see how it goes. I have some grand plans if this works. I’d love you to join in and help.
