I know there are people who are getting wayyyy more than just a pair of socks as a perk,but hey! This is my first achievement and I’m proud of it haha. Probably gonna frame it,I don’t know,lol.

Yeah I think December was the biggest month for me on Google Maps,volume-wise. Maybe because of that. I’m not sure however. Also I think I reviewed a LOT of different places,since I was traveling a lot that month

As noted above, I never received socks. I realize that awards may be country/region based. However, I do know of someone in Toronto who received socks. I live in Toronto and yet I never received socks. I’m wondering why.

As you already know, there are perks available and it will vary from time to time and from region to region. It depends on who the Google partners are. Furthermore, perks are offered to limited number of Local Guides. There may also be special and/or early access to Google features. You can read more about it on this article Get recognized.
