Today the name of a street in Riyadh has been changed from “Musa bin Nusayr” to “His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh Street”.
I tried using the internet browser on my laptop and also using the Google Maps app on my iPhone, but the same message appears: “The problems with the map in this area cannot be resolved yet.”
It seems that there is a ban on the modification for specific countries or it is a general problem.
The problem shown in your screenshot is actually due to Google Maps edit restrictions.
In some countries (such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, etc.), the map data is maintained directly by Google’s local authority contractors. Because of this, edits/corrections made by regular users are often not reviewed or are blocked.
Possible solutions:
Use “Report a data problem” instead of “Suggest an edit”
Open the location in the Google Maps app.
From the menu, select “Report a problem” / “Send feedback.”
Clearly write that the street name has been officially changed and mention the new name.
Post on the Google Maps Help Forum
What you have already done in the screenshot is correct.
However, if you also include an official announcement or a news link, the chances of the name being updated will increase significantly.
Use official authority contact
If possible, provide a link from the Riyadh Municipality (Baladiyah) official website or Twitter account that confirms the name change.
Google usually does not update street names without reliable sources from local authorities.
Be prepared to wait
Sometimes these changes are updated directly by Google’s local data providers.
This process can take from several weeks to even a few months.
Hopefully a moderator or Googler will resolve the issue.
