This feeling or realisation I get when I visited wagha border for retreat ceremony on 10th March,2019.This is the border between India and Pakistan near Punjab State. Every Indian should visit or I say must visit at least once in lifetime. You will realise what you are part of and what the great nation that you are live in.
The adrenaline rush, the patriotic feeling you will have makes you feel proud than non other…

Hi @mp3mahi ,
Thanks for sharing!
It seems you had a good time at the ceremony. It would be great if you could share a bit more about the event, and why it is held at the border.
Is this place well visited by the Indian people only or also by people from Pakistan?
I am letting you know that I have relabelled your post to Travel as it fits better here.
It is the mutual ceremony done everyday. By both Indaia and Pakistan. People from all over the country visit wagah-attari Border to witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony that is held every day before sunset. This ceremony includes the closing of the international gates and lowering the national flags of both countries. It is a spectacle to be witnessed and is an occasion where the heart of every Indian is filled with pride and enthusiasm. The flag ceremony has been conducted by the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers since 1959.
Every evening, just before the sunset, the soldiers from the BSF and Pakistan Rangers meet at this border post to engage in a 30-minute display of military camaraderie and showmanship. Officially, the purpose of the ceremony is to formally close the border for the night and lower the national flag. However, it is an entertainment ceremony and a display of national pride for the thousands of people who come here every day. During the build-up to the ceremony, the crowd engages in chanting the Indian national anthem, rounds of applause and dance on Patriotic Hindi songs(Only girls are allowed to dance).
At the other end same thing done by the Pakistan people they also came from all over the country to enjoy the ceremony.

That is really interesting @mp3mahi , I wonder how come I’ve never heard of this. I can understand why it is a special event to witness as an Indian national.
It must be a special feeling to participate in this with so many of your countrymen.
It is visited by people of both sides
