We will host the International Kolkata Book Fair Meet-up at Boimela Prangan, Salt Lake, Kolkata. We will explore and enjoy the book fair and also support local and small businesses through Google Maps.
A fair is always a good opportunity for local and small businesses to increase their sales and promote their businesses, and the impact will be even bigger when it’s an international fair. We will look for businesses at this fair that are not on Google Maps and add them with relevant information, photos, videos, and reviews.
We will educate business owners and book publishers, present at this fair, about Google Maps and how they can maximize its leverage to grow their business. This year’s theme country for this fair is Argentina.

Thank you so much @Jesi for your kind words. As it’s the world’s most attended and Asia’s largest book fair. I think it will be absolutely amazing and I will have pleasure of showing it virtually to LGs worldwide.
Thank you so much @EugeGallardo for your kind words. It really means a lot to me. The love and support I’m getting from Local Guides from Argentina for this meet-up is literally wonderful.
Kolkata, book, and literatures.. are 3 undevided words.
Hi @Shaunak. I am Rasyid from Indonesia. Never been in India, but surely Kolkata would be my first city to visit in India.
When I heard ‘Kolkata’ I always remember Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chattopadhyay, Mahasweta Devi, Gayatri Spivak and many great influential personalities.
Anyway, congrats for organizinng the meet up. I wish in the future i could visit Kolkata.
Thank you so much @rasyid_muft for your humble and kind words. Although Rabindranath Tagore is a popular name worldwide but I’m surprised to heard the names; Bankim Chattopadhyay, Mahasweta Devi, and Gayatri Spivak from you, even many Indians don’t know their names. It’s literally great and makes me emotional. Thank a lot again.
I did my research on postcolonial literatures when I pursued my MA degree. That’s why I know many great literary personalities from India (mostly from West Bengal) who have major influences on world’s history.
