And use some lines from the Connnect official posts and
my Google search for understanding things with
more clarity and genuine true sources.
From many days,
Even when I joined the connect, at that time to till this time,
There is no any change occurred in this topic as compare to other topics.
Yes, I am talking about the Achievement topic or Achievement board.
Before, I go into the details,
Let’s check out some useful information and definitions.
Achievements Board:

Here, you’ll find a place where Local Guides can share information on achievements they are most proud of.
You can use this label to celebrate your own accomplishments with the community, or simply browse and engage with the existing posts to congratulate others.
An achievement is something which someone has succeeded in doing, especially after a lot of effort.
Reaching this agreement so quickly was a great achievement.
Achievement is the process of achieving something.
Badges:
Badges are simply the acknowledgement of our activity.
It’s, You say that you get a prize for your Contributions.
Badges Like the Gamification.
The badges motivate local guides to do quality Contributions.
Importance Of Badges:
Badges show that one short measurement,
As Example,
This local guide has this badge means that he does no of times contributions, in this category.
It also shows the Amount of Local Guides Contributions.
Some badges also show the mastery of It’s Special Field.
Different Types of Badges shows different Specifications of the local guide.
It also says which Position on they have.
Now, I Introduce Major Part of this post.
Badges gives a One another Identity,

It’s Like reward or output, that as input, you do Contributions.
In all of this we need to keep in mind,
Here I talk about true and genuine contributions.
Let’s come to the point.
This my research is from 1/01/2020 to till this date for the achievement board.
What Happens Continuously With The Achievement Board Now?
Many local guides upload posts about received badges.
Some local guides are uploading 5 to 6 badges related posts per day.
It looks like that achievement board is for only badges!!!
No other types of posts.
The posts are based on this repetitive subtopics:
Badges of connect
Badges of google Maps
Contributions numbers.
Levels
Points
Views on individual photo
Views on overall photos
No of posts per day record
Received Google Maps Emails
Best score of the month
No of comments posted on connect
Useful achievements:
About perks
Featuring on Instagram, connect.
Crowdsource badges & other learning things.
Rewards
Some achievements are acceptable, but not all.
Seems like the all are the following current trend and do the
copy,Paste of other local guides.
Drawbacks of These Activities on Connect:
The Biggest dangerous thing,
I can find that,
it affects and misguides many new local guides and a new generation of local guides.
It gives fake & directionless motivation to local guides for achieving badges faster and speedy.
It’s highly disturbing for the quality of contributions and jenuine approaches.
It’s highly annoying because when we see or saw achievement board,
We only saw that about badges.
And nothing other information and informative posts or other achievements are posted there.
Sometimes I feel like it’s connect’s Dustbin, that many people came here and published posts without any thoughts.
Sometimes many popular local guides do that, because I think they have also become a part of this.
It’s also gives upset.
It’s already making down the connect value and
makes the achievement board very annoying, frustrating and no more useful.
Looks like All the flows of different local guides are the same.
Lack of new achievements and varieties of different things are highly missing from the achievement board.
In this, we make dirty local guides connect.
Once we talk about keeping the Clean Google Maps and at that time we publish non useful posts on connect and make it dirty.
Are you getting what I am trying to say?
Myths of local guides and My Answers:
Numbers of badges,
makes and increases the chances of selection in connection live?
Absolutely No.
Because they will find quality contributions not numbers of badges.
Numbers of badges, makes you smarter, brilliant and popular?.
This is a time taking process, quality of content, Engagement to other local guides.
Various parameters fit into this.
So in short, different local guides and different ways to make useful contributions.
Local guides connect is now more important than Google Maps?
Again No.
Because local guides connect is a google Maps program for local guides.
Google maps contributions are more important , helpful and useful to the world.
The speed of achieving badges makes you stronger than other local guides?
Definitely No.
Maybe some local guides are doing fake contributions for achieving badges.
Different local guides like your content and ideas and give the appreciation.
When receiving a new badge, is it necessary to publish the achievement post?
No.
It depends upon yours.
However, I will don’t recommend it to publish badges related posts.
Now,
My Suggestions & Point Of Views:
We need to first understand that the achievement board is not for only badges, points, levels and views.
We need to first understand,
What is a badge and
what is the actual meaning and importance of it?
I respect and appreciate your achievements, efforts , works, pains, feelings, point of views, thoughts, waves, curiosities, sharing to others those types of humbleness , Approaches.
But badges are not the perfect answer.
We have many things to share with the local guides community and it also gives you happiness and smiles.
In past I already do this type of mistakes (badges, comments),
So this time I am aware.
And now I don’t want to follow this trend to other local guides.
Let’s try to avoid the achievement board and try to publish new posts on other topics.
It also helps to move your concentration to achieve board to other topics.
And also it gives different Experiences.
Our intention is not for achieving the badges.
When you keep continues contributions, you will get them automatically.
We need to give priorities to true and useful contributions ,
compared to badges.
Because it helps more people.
We are not badge hunters.
If you are new on connect,
Don’t hesitate that you have low no badges, you are not popular, you have no likes, don’t feel jealous with other local guides, don’t be afraid, don’t be high variable.
After some time and with your Continues contributions you achieved that all.
Try to avoid badges, points, levels-
Competition and Comparison, it’s senseless.
If you still like to publish post about received badges,
Try to make and publish multiple badges in only one post. It looks good.
For 20 badges, 20 achievement posts are not appreciated and of course it’s totally ridiculous.
Another path is to make one post and include all badges that you received till this date.
Many local guides publish post,
“I received the badge new writer, new friend, newly popular,”
Are you climbing the Mount Everest for this?.
No, simple answer.
If this will give you high happiness, sorry to say,
you are in a different direction.
And I think we don’t need to celebrate this.
Some local guides have more than 27 badges, but still I didn’t find any badge- achievement posts from their side.
So, we need to understand this very carefully.
If still you want to publish the badges posts,
trying to add some useful information, your experience, procedure in your post.
So many local guides take advantage of this.
All badges are showing in our profile,
both in google Maps and local guides connect.
So all local guides are able to see that.
We no need to do any advertisement for receiving a current and new badge.(hence, it’s depends on yours)
So, I try to help more figure out what is Exactly meaning of achievement is.
Achievement Examples:
Giving a great presentation at work.
Beating sales targets.
Training for and completing a marathon.
Organizing a successful charity event.
Mentoring a coworker or fellow student.
What Are Professional Achievements?

Why is achievement an important value?
The achievements that matter most combine to form a version of success that has meaning and substance for the individual.
Achievements also provide tangible evidence that colleagues, competitors and the wider world use to judge a person as more or less successful.
