Hi all,
I’m wondering if it’s possible to upload videos from a computer.
Both .MOV and .mp4 files are not working.
For reference, I am on a Mac using Safari.Thanks.

@leoariel I don’t have any means to rest right now, but any chance your video is more than 30 seconds? You can only upload video up to 30 seconds on Maps listing.
If your video is under 30 seconds, can you try using another browser like Chrome and see if you’re able to upload the video?
I have tested and confirmed current problems with uploading mp4 files to Maps from desktops.
Do you get an error message similar to this:
All the best
Morten
@MortenCopenhagen which browser and which video format did you try to upload?
@leoariel I just tried it using Chrome browser on Windows laptop, uploading a 7 seconds .MOV video and was able to submit successfully.
@iyudhi Chrome on a Chrome book. The video was downloaded from Google Photos, so I don’t think the issue is in/with the video file.

@MortenCopenhagen We can get different video format downloading from Google Photos, depending on the original source. I got .MOV downloading video taken from iPhone, and .mp4 downloading video taken on Pixel. Have you been able to upload video through your Chromebook before, or is this the first time? Check as well if your Chrome browser has the latest version, or try a different browser.
It was a video from my pixel 7a and Chrome book runs from the cloud so I think believe it is fully updated automatically.
I will pm you the link to where this is escalated.
Cheers

@MortenCopenhagen Interesting. I literally just tried downloading a video uploaded from Pixel 8 Pro and it gave me .mp4 file. I also can’t find the setting to change video format on the phone. Time to do some digging.
Regardless, the issue may not be related at all to what OP is experiencing. If you see the screenshot above, it looks like they can’t even select the video to upload.
I’ll have a look at the escalation post, thanks.
I also uploaded a .mp4 video today without any problem.
I also think the video is more than 30 seconds as @iyudhi mentioned.
But about the error @MortenCopenhagen sees, I think it is related to the server and loading the page. So, it could be temporary.
Hello @MortenCopenhagen ,
I am currently unable to upload both MP4 .Mov., or. WMV from the desktop using Google Chrome on a Macbook Pro? Any reason why this might be the case now?
I hve no news on this. Did you notice the two posts related to video upload problems from the UK?
Cheers
Morten
I have not. Are they recent?
