How to stop someone from harassing my profile in Google Maps? Can I report it somewhere?
A few weeks ago I tried to find out why for some time all my new reviews were invisible to the public. I lost 84 reviews in a row and checked them several times to make sure I didn’t break any rules.
Then I made my profile invisible and from that moment the problem disappeared. The conclusion is that I have crazy followers who follow my profile and report everything as inappropriate.
Can anyone check if my reviews were submitted by the same user, from the same IP address or from the same area? Can we protect my profile from this person?
I would like to make my profile public again (my mom loves reading my reviews). Is there any way to recover my 84 (innocent) reviews?
Though you have added several links to your different reviews, all lead to the same restricted profile and hence is of no use to the readers here.
However, in my opinion, simply someone reporting a review doesn’t make that private. Once someone flags that then the AI scrutinises that and makes that private when there is objectionable or even unusual combination of words.
Thus, not only bad or abusive words but also usual shop talk or slangs become objectionable.
My experience says even a combined term “crying floor” became objectionable.
On re-edit, the review may become public. But is likely to attract the filters once again in the routine checks. By keeping the profile locked you will never come to know that.
To resolve that I suggest the following actions
Change your Maps profile name and DP.
Make the profile public and verify whether any reviews are private still.
Edit those to remove objectionable content.
Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be possible to identify the invisible person harassing you. Further, the person would have reported your whole profile as objectionable instead of individual reviews.
Now my profile is public again and as suggested I changed the profile name (not DP because I have no idea what the shortcut means).
And yes, every single review from this period is not visible for anyone but me. There are no exception at all. So that’s why I’m wondering what’s going on.
I tried to edit them, e.g. someone said that the brackets are illegal - so I removed them from some of my reviews. Unsuccessful. Someone else suggested that reviews may be too long. So for testing purposes I created a short one such as “Wow, a wonderful place” - still nothing. I shot blindly. I still have no idea what’s wrong with them, so please check thise links and tell me what I can do?
What language are your reviews written in? If in English try sharing on or two here and maybe we can spot what might be the problem.
Please bear in mind that normally (pre-Covid-19) reviews get reevaluated immediately after you resubmit an edit. So editing them to figure out what part/parts of your text triggers the filter is straight forward. Keep an incognito window open and looking at your list of reviews. If it gets public after removing some text it will be shown first on your list after reload (F5 on PC). If it does not show up, then keep removing bits of your review text until it gets public. When it happens you also have a hint as to what wording was the problem. Then try rephrasing and adding back other parts of your review text. And keep checking step by step if it stays public.
Over time you will learn what words trigger the filter and you can avoid using them.
Try this on a few reviews and let us know how it going.
I’m writing always in Polish, because in my own language I can be funny, clever , and I can avoid any misunderstandings. In my own language I’m 100% sure that I wrote everything properly.
But as you suggested, lets take two or three examples (I’ll take shortest one to make translation easier).

Really is here any triggering word? Which one?
They are so short and simple that I have no idea what can I change. Other are longer and more complicated, but still I don’t understand what could be wrong in them.
I see yiu have 253 reviews that are public and 346 privately. That means 93 are marked private. That is a high percentage.
Please respond to flash’s question about the number of views on a few of your private reviews. Zero views or a smaller number indicating they have been public at some point?
I’m afraid you’re mistaken, but that’s not a bad thing… I can see your reviews just fine. They are not all blocked.
I see that your newest review is 2 months old. Did you actually mean to say that any review newer that 2 months old isn’t showing? And if so, how many reviews are we discussing and on what date did you contribute both the oldest and newest review?
I’ve got no never reviews than 2 months, because of Coronavirus. I’ve stuck at home, so I’ve got no chance to contribute anything. From last week restaurants are open in Poland (in a limited way) so maybe I’ll go out from my flat and write an review.
My problem started more-less at begining of November 2019, and I solved it at the end of January 2020 by making mu profile hidden. Everything in the middle (including my excelent trip to Barcelona) has been lost.

The chorizo flaming sausages were also quite nice, although I don’t remember the name of the dish and peppers stuffed with tuna paste - pimientos de piquillo.”

but it’s still invisible.
So maybe my trustscore become dramatically low? But on the other hand, today I’ve send a new review without any problems.
BTW: somebody noticed that some of my private reviews has been observed in the past - that’s right, some of them have even answers from owners. They ware public at the very beginning, but they ware vanished three to five days after they had been published.
So I have to wait a few days to see if my newest post will stay with us.
I’m sorry to disturb you all, but I found something very interesting. After changing the review to a simple one, to see if it became public, I was so pissed off that it’s not, that I deleted it. After some time, I calmed down and re-created it (copied and pasted text from backup). And now this review is PUBLIC again! So, the problem is somehow related to the review itself, not to my content.
Should we dig deeper, or would it be better to delete them all (84 is quite a large number) and reproduce them again? Can this behavior be suspected for Google algorithms?
Are only some people allowed to speak out about bullying, corruption, and injustice to steer the narratives thereof and control the flow of information? This is one of the chief questions I ask in my book which, ironically, doesn’t seem to be available for everyone to read at Nothing Significant Happened Today (though I can read it fine on my end) and I’m not sure if it’s available to everyone on Amazon either. It may be the most censored book in the world. Are mass numbers of ordinary everyday citizens covering up injustices while distracting you with fake ones?
