How to remove followers without blocking them

If there are Maps followers you want to remove for any reason, here are the steps to take, notice that Maps doesn’t natively have an option to remove a follower and this is a workaround in which you need to “temporarily” block an account and unblock it again, this way it’s removed from your followers list:

  1. Go to your followers list on Google Maps;

2.Block the account(s) you want (this will be temporary);

3.Go to “Explore” tab on Maps;

4.Tap your profile photo and then tap “Manage your Google Account” or on your browser, go to https://myaccount.google.com;

5.Go to “people & sharing” tab;

6.Under “Contacts” section, go to “Blocked”;

7.Here are the blocked Google Accounts (except for YouTube accounts) you can unblock and this way they are removed from your followers without being blocked.

Regards.

Hi @Kia_Faraji

Thanks. Interesting.

But I don’t see a “Block” option in my list of followers. The only option is “Remove”.

Maybe this is just a translation issue.

What platform are you on? I use Android.

@MortenCopenhagen

I’m on iOS but I just noticed that I’ve got the “remove” option as well!! But I’m very certain that just a few days back when I temporarily put my profile on public mode after a long time and follow requests were automatically accepted, I didn’t see this option!

Anyway, since there is actually an option to “remove” a follower, my post is ridiculous and I should ask someone to remove it :sweat_smile: .

The differences could be the platform AND the settings. So there is no need to remove your post. We are all learning. Which is great.
