How to remove a company from my an old address, that has long since moved.

Hello everyone,

Google has reviewed, and not heeded my request to remove a club from an address they are no longer situated on.
How do you change such a detail on the google maps, when these steps are apparently not the way to go about it:
1: Select the wrongly placed company in Google Maps.
2: Click ‘suggest an edit’

3: Click ‘close or remove’

4: Click ‘Doesn’t exist here’

I hope someone has tips on how to remove something that physically isn’t there.

Well, if the place existed in there in the past, and now has been moved in another location, trying to remove the place as “Doesn’t exist here” is a wrong procedure, @WiseWestley , because the place was there, and Google keeps the historical data of a business listing.

The the best approach is to flag it as “permanently closed” instead.

As you can read in Mark a place reopened or closed on Google Maps “If Google Maps shows a place that was never at that location, mark it as non-existent”.

As you said that the place was there in the past, that option should not be used

Thank you for your reply.

I thought that if I would mark it as permanently closed, it would check to see if the club has actually shut down, which it hasn’t, it has just relocated.

Hence I chose the ‘Doesnt exist here’ option, as their new address already has a marker on it, and I thought that someone reviewing the edit would check for that.

The choices are a bit ambiguous, but I shall remember your explanation for a next time.
The new edit has been made.
