I want to share the latest issue, related to a place that has suddenly disappeared from Google Maps. The owner of this place had just invited us to have our iftar together last week.
Since you know the owner, the best option would be to have him claim the place, which will create a new feature, and then for him to contact support.
Reviews are kept on a separate database, and so him creating a new place might cause many of them to link to this new feature. Support will be able to help him recover as much as possible; but they won’t deal with him until he’s proved ownership by making the claim.
I’m afraid we cannot help you any further than that when it comes to claiming a feature; GMB matters are outside the scope of the Local Guides program.
