Dear @ahmedsharf11

Please be aware that adding your home to Google Maps is against the guidelines.

Please see this link for an official list of places we should not add to Google Maps.

Please edit your post to remove your mention of adding private homes to the map.

When you need to edit one of your posts or replies here on Connect, then please press on the three blue dots and select Edit message.

To learn more about this see Edit your post - Why and How To kindly prepared by @ErmesT .

You may also want to remove a sentence from your video.

And finally please remove the German language tag since your post and video are in English.

All the best and thanks for your efforts.

@ahmedsharf11 was that video recently recorded? The screen it contains to add a missing place is quite different from the one I am seeing. And also that option to add your home with the category ‘Home’ I have never seen. When I access the list of categories presented by default starts with ‘Lodging’, I have never seen ‘Home’ there.

@MortenCopenhagen you are absolutely right to state that you should not add your own home as a so-called Point of Interest to Maps, but that does not seem to be what @ahmedsharf11 is showing here. As far as I can see from the menu and accompanying texts on the screens, he is offered a possibility to add the label ‘Home’ to an existing address location on Maps - something which is absolutely allowed, as explained on this official page. It’s only a mystery to me that he has this option from the “Add a missing place” module.

Hi @ahmedsharf11 ,

In addition to what @JanVanHaver and @MortenCopenhagen already mentioned, I also wanted to let you know that I removed the language tag from your post since you wrote in English and the tag should only reflect the language of the post.

In the following article you can learn more about the topic: How do I find posts in my preferred language?
