How to Make Your Mobile Photographs Eye Catching and Vibrant in Simple 3 Steps

Hi folks, if you

  • Use your mobile a lot to capture photos
  • And use the photos to post on Google Maps
  • Or use them to publish your article in Local Guide Connect
  • Or use those photos literally anywhere
  • If you think I could have done some editing to make it look better
  • If you are not a photo editing pro
  • You don’t use any photo editing app
  • Even if you used an app you are still not happy

Then you are in the correct place. Today most of us use mobile phones for most of the things, specially to take photographs, unless you have a camera. And the technology has grown by leaps that the phones come with Good cameras and the software technology has the power to make almost any photos look better.

I have a DSLR camera, but due to its bulkiness I have stopped using it for like 5 years now and I keep on using my mobile camera. And I am not a professional photographer or a photo editor. But eventually I am using this Snapseed app by Google for more than 3 years now and it makes most of my photos look great in simple 3 or 4 click. I thought maybe this is one of the best places I can share my tricks. I use only these simple techniques in my photos so please check them in my profile, if you want some confidence. Why wait lets move to the steps.

Disclaimer and Prerequisite

  • This mostly work great on sceneries more than objects and people
  • Download and install snapseed app in your mobile phone

Step 1

First of all go to your phone camera and check if it has the support for HDR mode. Please enable that if it has. This ensures that the photo you get will get a mix of a low and high exposure mixed perfect photo that will benefit from the edits from Snapseed.

I will use the below photo as the Example photo

If your phone camera dont have the HDR mode, dont worry please move on to step 2

Step 2

Here load your image to Snapseed and Go to the settings and select the HDR Scape.

For those who don’t have HDR mode in your mobile camera you can use this mode to add some HDR color correction. Be careful as its handled by software sometimes it may look artificial so always keep the feel of the originality.

For those who have HDR mode you guys actually don’t need this but you can use this setting to make your photo more vibrant if you feel not satisfied with the photo you took.

Step 3

Now when you are satisfied with your HDR photos, it’s time to apply one of the many filters. It’s called the ‘Accentuate’. This should do the Magic. But if you are not happy with it you can always go on and try out other available filters too.

Step 4 (Optional)

Always when you are taking photos when the sun is high, try to get a low brightness and high brightness photo with HDR mode on. Both photos will have a different effect on the above effects applied in Step 2 and 3.

Conclusion

So this is a small tutorial to make the minimal effort to make your photo look so vibrant and get the satisfaction of your mind to feel “That little effect I wanted to add to my photos all these days” is achieved at last.

So that’s it folks try this and let me know how did go for you. You don’t have to stick with Snapseed but there are many other apps that may be better in handling HDR. So please add your comments and let me know what you are using and if you know any tricks and trick please do share I am more than happy to try out them and help you all.
