Hi everyone! I write this post because, as we still live in a post-pandemic world, many people need good quality-trusty information while using google maps.
But, How can we make it better?
Let’s start by talking about small business information. Based on COVID restrictions, a lot of businesses were forced to change multiple times their information on Google Maps, and to be honest, even I, as a Local Guide, was caught on the constant changes and it was impossible for me to keep everything up-to-date in my city.
Now that everything is settling down, at least in some countries, one small action that can help a lot of small businesses is to update the information while you are visiting those places. Ask the waitress or the manager if they need help updating or changing their information, so other people can trust what they see on Google Maps.
Photos
You can take good photos, with good illumination, or even record videos of how the ambiance of the place looks. This is simple, here a let you a few examples of my photography. Look for the most interesting parts of the business, the best food, and the accessibility of the place, so others can visit it.
Summary
If you want to help all the small businesses that are recovering from the pandemic:
- Ask - Always ask the owner, waitress, or manager of the business if they need help because a lot of times they don’t know how to update their information on Google Maps.
- Research - Which are the most updated COVID-19 restrictions in your country/region?
- Contribute - A photo or a video is always a great option to show the world what you see through your eyes.
- Review - A honest review will always be useful for a lot of people.
