I have made a 360 camera stand for my car (street view car!), and I’m sharing the video, how I made this.
Used Materials
- Heavy Duty Aluminum Suction Cup x 2
- Small Flat metal bar piece
- Monopod for 360 camera
- Bolt & Nut X 3

Hi @IlankovanT cool idea and thanks for sharing, from an engineering perspective I would encourage you to include a third set of suction cups with a brace at 45 degrees either behind or in front of the monopod in the direction of trouble otherwise you risk the monopod wiggling in the wind or even snapping off your mount if you stop quickly.
I’ve done loads of work with vehicles in public transport and both fast and slow vibration are your enemies for this sort of application.
Regards Paul
That’s a good one @PaulPavlinovich , thanks for the great idea.
Actually I bought 3 suction cups and used only 2, did a small experiment and then finally gone for this model and the monopod height is not same as in the photo. I have reducded little down. Also connected a USB power cable from the camera.
I’m running trials theedays, hope I can upgrade to three if this fails. (I have one extra)
@IlankovanT This is good and agree with @PaulPavlinovich third set of suction cups will make it more stable. The biggest issue I am facing is uploading large video files from the 360 cameras. If there is a desktop software to create individual 360 photos and upload, that would save a large amount of data(ie money, at the end of the day, data means money. :)).
@IlankovanT Four strings or wires from the top of the pole to the corners of your suction devices might work too.
@AnuradhaP can’t you use your phone on wireless instead of mobile data?
@PaulPavlinovich I am using wireless, but the data cost is very high.
Thank you @IlankovanT for sharing this great idea!
But did you think Police will be allowed this type of Stand during driving car? did we will get the permission for this from our local police ?
That is an interesting question @iDepp - in Australia you’d probably be ok as long as you don’t have anything protruding out the front or sides our lot would generally leave you alone. You can load up your car up to 4m high from the road surface before anyone will hassle you.
Thank you @AnuradhaP , no desktop software to upload, and I’m also struggling to upload the files from mobile, sometimes it will confuse.
@PaulPavlinovich thank you
@iDepp I also had this doubt and need to check with traffic police before I run in main roads. these days I’m covering rural roads (minor roads). so far no issues
Yes, @IlankovanT @PaulPavlinovich
Nowadays in India, the traffic rules are very strict and this could be dangerous that we place a stand on our car without traffic police permission.
so make sure that that is permissible!
This is the same country that lets a whole family ride on a motorbike yah? And they worry about one camera monopod?
Traffic police can be funny creatures here too @iDepp
Wow @IlankovanT sir innovating idea you did a fantastic work, Thank you for sharing with us…
Thank you @NirmalTeja
Hi @IlankovanT thanks for sharing your work, I have already tried selfie stick, helmet and soon I will be trying this one using suction cups. I am sure is very much interesting, except the fact that the footage is very large, normally it has a minimum of 1GB upwards when walking, I thought when driving might be a bit smaller than that. Thanks for sharing.
