How to Link Google Photos to LG Connect Without Using Code

If you are not aware, LG Connect has a limit of uploading 1000 photos. After this, you could be forced to remove older photos to be able to upload new ones.

The previous article showed how to use a collage to fit several pictures into a single image in order to avoid breaching the 1000 photo limit.

The present article shows how to link photos from Photos.Google.com into an LG Connect post without writing any code using simple Copy-Paste from Google Photos and without the need to make the photo or the album public.

Step 1. Insert an image from Google Photos directly into a blog and copy the Image Address from there.
Note: You get a free blog in the process  that serves as an easy place-holder for the photo.

Step 2. Paste the Image Address directly beside the normal text into the LG Connect post. The Image will be inerted.
Note - No need to write any HTML code.

This process may appear lengthy but the advantages are
Advantage #1 No need to make the album public in Google Photos.
Advantage #2 No Need to write code.

Here are easy “ONE TIME” steps to set up your free blog:

  1. Log into Gmail and open blogger from there, it’s free :confetti_ball:
  2. Give the blog a display name, description, and title.
  3. You are Done…! :+1:

Next,

  1. Create a new post on the blog.
  2. From Insert Image - Select Photos and browse to your Google Photos album.
  3. Click Publish to create the blog post.

How to use the blog photos in LG Connect:

  1. Open the blog post to view and right-click on a photo to copy its Image Address.
  2. Right-click in LG Connect post and Paste the copied Image Address directly beside the normal text into the LG Connect post. The Image will be inerted.

Simple Copy-Paste… :sunglasses:

Pros and Cons of this method:

Pros:

  1. :heavy_check_mark: No need to make Google Photos album public.
  2. :heavy_check_mark: No need to write HTML code in LG Connect.
  3. :heavy_check_mark: You get a free Blog automatically using simple Copy-Paste.

Caution :skull_and_crossbones: Editing exiting HTML code to insert images is risky and prone to errors.

Cons:

  1. :x: Create an extra post as a placeholder for the photos.

Conclusion:
As you can see the Pros outweigh the Cons, hence this is a great method to insert photos into LG Connect without breaching the 1000 photos limits.

Your message translates to:

“Thank you for your contribution, it is very significant and very clear. BEWARE. Regards.”

Why the word BEWARE?

Hey @TusharSuradkar ,

Thanks for sharing!

To keep the forum organized, I will relabel your post to How-tos, where Local Guide publish such useful articles. More information on Connect’s labels is available here.

Thank you @Bobiisha for the update.

I had a dilemma about where to post - ‘How To’ or Photography and I chose the latter.

‘How To’ seems appropriate.

Thank you @helga19

I am glad you find these tips helpful.

I note that you have already consumed 999 images from the quota of 1000.

So it is high time that you store your photos to Photos.Google.com and link them back to your connect posts.

Have you considered using a dedicated photo service like flickr or smugmug etc. that are designed to do things like this rather than this work around with a blog @TusharSuradkar - I suspect you’ll find that much more satisfactory. As an example, here is one from my flickr. Note that when you put in photos this way they will not appear in the post thumbnail view. Posts with images are likely to attract more attention.

Thank you for the note @PaulPavlinovich

I have a Flickr account but the idea of linking images from Flickr did not occur to me.

Smugmug seems to be a paid service.

I will try Flickr in my next article out of curiosity but there is no special advantage for me since I do not actually link my Google Photos via the Blog as described in my article. I upload images from my computer to the blog directly and use it as a place holder to use them in LG Connect.

Also, I am aware that the linked image is not displayed in the thumbnail so I make sure to insert one locally
