During my last visit in Sankarpur sea beach and Mohana Beach Resorts at Mandarmoni, I found a lot of duplicate entries of hotels and beach names in google map. I suggest an edit “Remove the place” as it is duplicate. I got notification, that my edit is live. But nothing change in listing after 48 hrs.
My question is - How much time required to publish an edit?
And what is the actual process to report for a Duplicate Listing.

As for how long it takes for something to be published, it totally varies and it isn’t possible to provide a finite timeline. Google Maps has algorithms to verify the information and depending on the complexity, that timeline may vary.
In such cases when there is duplicate listings on the map and all have important data (photos/reviews/Q&A) best thing to do is marking as duplicate to merge the listings.
But the tip that never mentioned in helps is that before using “Duplicate” option information of listings should be same or empty. You should move the marker of all listings to same place and be sure that working hours of all POIs are same or empty. After such edits to move and correct working hours approved, you can use “Duplicate” option in remove menu. Then they’ll merge.
But I wonder how system notified you about your edit is live but still nothing changed. After approval it takes some hours for edit to be visible. Even for duplication cases after receiving notification about approval, you should be able to see the listings got merged and no need to wait because it nearly takes one week after merge to receive duplication email notification. I guess you’ve got notification about another edit not duplication merging! Can you please share the screenshot of automated email you’ve received in this case?
Thanks for your suggestions. Before moving all the pointer in same position, I edit the listing as duplicate. So it may not marged. Now I will try as per your instruction. Let’s see what happened.

I was struggling for the removal of a duplicate for many days.
As suggested by you, I shifted the marker first.
Though the change is not visible yet, the email says the edit is a success and may reflect on maps within twenty-four hours.
