How to Book KTX in 1 Minute (No Membership Required!)

Hello fellow Local Guides! :minibus:

If you are planning to travel around South Korea by train, you might find the official booking app a bit complicated. Today, I’m sharing a local’s secret to make your journey stress-free.

:one:The Best Way: South Korea’s Integrated Booking Portal
Forget about complicated Korail memberships! You can book KTX tickets directly through local integrated portals (like Naver). It’s fast, supports international cards, and takes less than a minute. As it’s the primary search engine in Korea, it offers the most reliable real-time data for travelers.

:two: New Policy: Don’t Forget Your Ticket!
As of Oct 2025, penalty fares for boarding without a ticket have been increased. Make sure your booking is confirmed before you hop on!

:three: Pro-Tip: Use Gwangmyeong Station If you want to avoid the chaos of Seoul Station, Gwangmyeong Station is the perfect hub. It’s spacious, family-friendly, and has excellent logistics—especially for those using EVs.

:round_pushpin: Check out my detailed review and more photos of Gwangmyeong Station on Google Maps:

It sounds like I should know what Naver is. I don’t. Sorry.

Maybe you could include links to your relevant Maps contributions.

“Hi @MortenCopenhagen, thank you for the feedback. As you suggested, I’ve updated the post to include my Google Maps review link to provide more visual context and local data. I’ve also clarified what Naver is for international guides. Hope this helps!”
