I was wondering how I can connect with another guide to remove a mistaken review on our business.
It looks like he was around the area of our business by the photos he has posted on Google and may have been prompted to leave us a review by Google maps and had no idea who we were.
We run a home based business with no walk ins so there is no way he would have been able to come inside and we certainly dont recognise them as one of our clients.
I have posted this on the Google my business forum too, but because we are all guides and this was another guide it might be relevant posting it here?
The business is: Tradesign Tradie & Small Business Websites | Adwords | SEO | Courses - and we are in South Perth, WA.
You can report the review as objectionable by clicking the three dots adjacent to that.
If the AI finds your report valid, the review will become private. If the LG is knowledgeable, the person will come to know that something is wrong in that. Beyond that, there are no other means to contact that specific person.or even describe the exact nature of the wrongdoing.
Further, as per my understanding of past discussions, a business owner can’t report any issues in this forum related to own business and has to use the GMB forum only.
Yep thanks man understood. It is just frustrating I guess as it has a negative impact. Google came back and said they found no policy violation (which I believe is incorrect) but I will try my best to sort it out.
Firstly, as a home run business that does not accept walk ins your business is not eligible to be on Google Maps.
Secondly, should you become eligible you should claim your business via Google My Business then you can have some management control to an extent over reviews and edits.
Thirdly, the Local Guides program is for individuals only not for businesses, please exit from the Local Guides program from your business account.
You can report the reviews if you think are invalid, inappropriate and do not belong on Google Maps, should be reported as described in this article. A team of specialists will then check if it violates any of our policies and will take appropriate action.

Thanks for your reply. I have claimed and have been operating my business for 5+ years and it is a 100% local, real and registered business. My office is at the home but we serve customers in their service areas which according to Google my business is a service area business. I will remove myself from this platform and continue on Google my business. Thanks for your time.
