Hy Local Guides,
Adding GIFs to your Connect posts can be a great way to make your post more engaging & creative. While Connect doesn’t currently support autoplay on GIFS, there’s some simple steps you can follow to ensure your animated graphics play properly in a loop for local guides to catch upon.
Find your GIF :
For all this to happen, you need to have GIFs, either by using video clips or a series of images. You can also insert GIFs or graphics like I made on this post. Not all GIFs online are free to use but can be used for personal projects & non commercial purposes. Always choose a GIF that is relevant to your post content.
Editing your GIF :
This is the most important step for your GIF, so that it can run smoothly on Connect. As GIF doesn’t autoplay on Connect, we have to loop infinitely to make it play as a GIF.
-
Option 1 : Many online tools or applications have options to edit GIFs. Look for the option like “loop count” or “loop time”. Make loop count to “infinite” or loop time to “0”. After saving, your GIF is ready to upload to the Connect.
-
Option 2 : you don’t have to set Loop time/count to infinite, but at a certain number where you want local guides to see that animation. Longer delay has the same effect as GIF but it will be paused at the loop number you put up during editing.
Uploading to Connect
Once edited, your GIF is ready to upload to Connect. You can upload GIFs as you would for Images. You can also edit the captions in the preview section.
Note : This method also works on “Profile Header” too.
Also Note : limit of media size (GIF) to upload on Connect is 10mb. Less animation & graphics means less size.
By editing GIF & inserting one in your post, you have animation which runs continuously with any pause or play again. This creates a seamlessly engaging post & attractive banner too.
If you know any other method, please let me know in the comments. Also if you have any doubts, please let me know.

The GIF feature looks fascinating @Rahul001
Additionally, the tips about infinite looping will be useful for an effective GIF display on Connect.
Which online tools would you recommend for GIF composing?

Thank you @TusharSuradkar for valuable comment.
I think we can do all that in one application like in photo/video editing application.
But as I don’t know that, i mostly use Canva/adobe to make cover photos or anything related to Connect.
If Gif is include, I search “increase Loop Count in GIF” in Google :
- I mostly goes to EGIF ( which is online platform especially for editing GIF)
- Or Online GiF Tools.
