Hello @Mahat
A prerequisite of any POI creation is there must be a physical presence of some persons to attend the customers at least for some small duration in a day, or that must be a spot of tourist interest. A WiFi hot spot does not answer both the expectations and hence doesn’t qualify for a new spot creation.
Thanks for your response but my point is. In my town there’s no public Hotspot WiFi and in regards to Covid-19 lockdown someone created several public Hotspot WiFi place inside the town so that students can have access to the internet. I wanted to add these places to the Google Map but Google didn’t approved. What I can I do? Thanks @C_T
Understand your point @Mahat
You may suggest in the idea exchange to allow the creation of WiFi hot-spot points as places of interests.
Till then, you can use the following two solutions.
Nevertheless, these kinds of services never hide the SSID & hence locating the signal shouldn’t be a problem for the students.
Thanks you so much for your quick response and accurate information. I will try both but if I may ask you. If I creat a customized Google My Map is it going to show in Google search engine. Thank once again @C_T
Hi @Mahat ,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! : ]
I just wanted to highlight the reply that @C_T , should Google My Maps be one of the feasible path.
It would seem that you would like to mention a Moderator, do feel free to let one know in case of urgent matter.
Additionally, I have add a bit more detail to the title of the post, as you may check further if needed to represent better the subject.
Helly @Mahat ,
I see that you tried to add several wi-fi spots, and despite there being a category some of the spots were not added.
The category was purposely removed from the list of categories that were to be available to the public in 2015. I’ve never heard that they were re-added to the list, I think this might be a case of a legacy category accidentally being available. I’ll investigate it more.
Thanks for your response @sonnyNg
