There is a road in my city that is currently unnamed so about 4 days I decided to add the name since it’s pretty popular.
I used my phone and followed the prompts and successfully filled in the name after that I got a message saying that my edits were being reviewed.
Fast forward to yesterday, I got an email saying that my update has been published but when I checked the map yesterday and today the road is still unnamed.
So I was wondering if I did something wrong or If I wasn’t supposed to use my phone. Or something.

The above post was created about a month ago and I’m sad to say nothing has changed and that is unfortunate.
it’s still showing pending and when I checked my contribution history it show zero roads added which means all the roads I have tried in the past have also probably failed.
Does it have to do with my rank or something

Thanks for your efforts.
Please give it a week to take effect. There are thousands of servers that need updated and it takes time.
Let me know what happens in a week.

We need check if you cache is fooling us. If you share a Maps link I can try to check using my phone.
Alternatively you can check on a friend’s phone or try Clear cache & cookies.

I found the road. It is still unnamed. So you cashe is not the problem.
I tried renaming it. And my edit went pending.
Hmmnnn. Strange.

I noticed that this road is not the only one that has no name.
It could be that the Local authorities decided to ask Google Maps to not allow users to edit such details. But then you should not have received the confirmation.

local authorities won’t have done I’m pretty sure they can’t even spell Google something seems to be wrong.
There is a lot of unnamed roads there and I just recently noticed and was planning on updating them eventually this was my first So that’s why I’m puzzled about it.

I think you will need to seek help
In the Maps support forum.
Hit the Community tab at the top and make a post. You need to attach or link to official documentation supporting the change you are proposing. Copyright-free governmental maps are probably the best proof you can attach.
Without such official documentation you will not be successful.
