I’m Saman from Iran, A Google lover and you can’t imagine this love so let me say more about it.
I started my direct contributing from Map Maker, a professional tool which helps me to improve my mapping ability. Step by step I learned most things that we need for a positive contributing on Maps, Like adding roads that helps people to navigate better especially for villages and small towns which have less access to necessary tools, or for large cities which helps for emergencies to survive human life by creating public and private roads use for firefighters and ambulances.
And also adding places on the map, like adding missed parks and shopping centers which shows people entertainment locations and stores. Or editing information of places due to reality and Google rules which causes more reliable and clean map.
By starting Local Guides program I also focused on another fields of contributing like reviewing and adding photos. Because we found that these have also good effect on people’s sense from a place.
Another amazing thing that Google provided by this program was Local Guides Connect. By starting it, I saw a new good way to be more social through the map! This causes us to know other good local guides from all over the world and to have a connection with them. Also, it was an opportunity to learn more from other cultures and experts. One more good thing that Connect made possible for us is to have direct connection with Googlers and there were many unsolvable cases (for users) that I shared with Googlers in Connect and they solved it.
We have also one regional community in Iran to have better impact with other Iranian Local Guides. As one of the managers of the community I help Iranian LGs for correct contributing.
On the other hand, I’ve also some enjoyment on Google Maps, for example, reviewing tourist attractions and describe about their specifications. Also taking photos especially 360 photos are one of my most contributes on Google Maps which shows beauties of places.
Another thing that I do time to time is adding Persian name to tourist attractions around the world.
Finally I should remind that these all weren’t possible without the help of Google so I should say a kindly thanks to my lovely Google.
