What an amazing journey it has been, and I can’t help but smile thinking back to the TRAC Campaign 2024. Together, we did something really special—adding 1,000 new roads to Google Maps. But honestly, it wasn’t just about the roads, was it? It was about all of us, coming together, sharing our passion, and making a difference one step (or one road!) at a time.
A Journey of New Roads and New Friends
Being part of TRAC meant I got to meet so many incredible people who were just as excited as I was to help make our world a little more connected. You could feel the spirit of collaboration everywhere—people sharing tips, encouraging each other, and making the experience truly unforgettable. From cities to rural paths, we all played our part in making sure these roads reached not just maps, but also people’s lives.
A new road means a new opportunity, and we created a thousand of them! For some, it’s a faster way home after a long day; for others, it’s the quickest route in an emergency or simply an easier way to explore. That’s the power of what we’ve done, and it’s something we should all be proud of.
The Power of Teamwork
What really made this campaign special was the teamwork. We weren’t just individuals adding lines on a map; we were a team with a shared purpose. Everyone was ready to lend a hand, share advice, and cheer each other on, and that made all the difference. We weren’t alone in this effort—each of us helped make a difference by connecting places and, more importantly, people.

And although TRAC Campaign 2024 has come to an end, we already have our sights set on the next challenge. There are still so many places to connect, and we need all of you amazing Local Guides to make it happen. So, let’s get ready for the next TRAC adventure, where we’ll add even more roads, tell more stories, and continue to help people find their way.
