It was in January 2017, when I first uploaded some photos of a Kebab shop near my home on Google Maps and wrote a few words about it. Then one month later on March 1st 2017, I received an email from Google saying my photos were a big hit, and that they helped people over 1000 times! To me it meant so much that I decided to join Google local guides program.
What I love most sharing on Google Maps are photos of the places I visit, because for me personally, it’s important to be able to see a place online before I go there for the first time, so that I will have a better experience there. I usually I share a lot of photos, assuming that it’s easier for people to browse through photos and decide whether they like the place or not, rather than reading long reviews. While writing reviews I try to keep it short but complete.
The day I joined Google local guides community, I thought I could help a few people explore our world easier and decide about the places to want to visit, but Google Maps made it so easy for me that in just about 2 years I received another email saying that my photos were reached 1,000,000 views!
Today, I have 1,353 photos on Google Maps, which were viewed 1,548,108 times and counting. I want to keep up leaving reviews and uploading photos till I reach the highest level as a Local Guide.
