Hi, we also here in Greece celebrate the Carnival very much. In every town and village people use to wear funny costums and celebrate with dances, lots of food and wine!

Well, the carnival in Venice is a representation of the life on the 17th century, and all the costumes are inspired to that period, @SP31

17th century was a great moment of evolution for arts and culture, we can mention a few, like Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, to understand the atmosphere that you breath when walking in Venice during Carnival

I was in Venice for Carnivale a few years ago and it was amazing! All the costumes were beautiful and I even bought myself an authentic mask. The city turns into one giant party and it was so fun to dance in San Marco plaza. A very magical experience!

Impressive @ErmesT … that is at almost maniacal level!

Yes it is true that there are people who practically prepare months before to make perfect every detail!

Hi @ErmesT !

I’m glad to comment here as it is my first comment on the connect.

We in India have a lot of Carnivals since we are a country of Festivals.

Holi which is on 21st of March will be one of the amazing festivals to cover.

I would like to invite you and my connect friends to join me this holi in Rishikesh, India.

Great, @MykhailoIlin , we had at least two Local Guides from Ukraine last year at Connect Live. @NatalkaR was also at the European Meet-up 2018, and one will reach us on the European Meet-up 2019 in Ghent

Carnival of course is not only happening in Venice: All the cities, town, villages are involved.

Here the carnival parade in my small village.

Also, somebody told me that the tradition of thefat Thursday started in Poland. Am I correct @Anonymous ?

Spain is a country of many traditions, and the recovery of the pagan tradition of “Los antruejos” is a sample of what the province of León, Castilla y León, Spain can offer. Thanks to the efforts of all the participants, we recover traditions for Carnival.

Hahaha @ErmesT Masz rację, tradycja tłustego czwartku wywodzi się z Polski i z Niemiec! @TorM Sięga czasów pogańskich, więc dawno temu chrześcijanie przyjęli ją do swych obyczajów. Początkowo pączki nadziewano słoniną i tłustym mięsem i suto zapijano wódką  Podobno jeśli ktoś nie zje ani jednego pączka to nie będzie mu się wiodło przez cały rok!

Czyż nie lepiej tańczyć w karnawale? Biodra smukleją :grinning:

Piękne zdjęcia

Piękna tradycja karnawału, pozdrawiam Danuta
