How can I change name of area?

I stay in Igatpuri a small town in Maharashtra and I am facing some problem with area name for example Mahindra club is located in Dark Banglow road but on map the area is Girnare which is far from Mahindra club and many areas have same problem with names so can I know how to change area names?

You need to be more precise. Is it not the place name you want to change? If not what is the name you want to change. Again sharing a link to the area and not just a place would be helpful.

I take you already know this post about reasons for edits getting the pending status.

@MortenCopenhagen sir Sorry I don’t understand how to copy area url but for example this two locations are couple of kilometres away from each other. 1) link is proper address and area and 2) link is next to my home it also have same area name on map but in reality it’s know as Girja mata mandir, near teen lakdi .

तसेच, नकाशामध्ये हा क्लब गिरनारे परिसराच्या परिघातच दिसतो आहे. त्यामुळे आपण सुचविलेले संपादन यशस्वी होणार नाही.

त्यातूनही आपणास जर ह्या परिघातच बदल सुचवायचा असेल, तर त्या साठी आपण त्या बद्दल नकाशा मधून अभिप्राय पाठवू शकता.

परंतु या परिघाचा स्रोत जर भारतीय डाक आणि टपाल खात्याच्या नकाशात असेल, तर प्रथम त्यामध्ये बदल घडवून आणावा लागेल!

So when this part

“Bajrang Wada, Igatpuri, Maharashtra 422402” is common for the two places I guess that the problem is not in this part, right?

Is it the problem that “Mahindra Colony” is missing in the second address?

Mind you these official addresses are probably not something Google came up with. Map users have the opportunity to edit addresses rather freely. So that might be what is causing the problem. Or Google got some official address databases and there could be errors in those records.

You can investigate a bit further by trying to edit the addresses and see what dropdown addresses are shown. As far as I know only official addresses show up this way.

When you have narrowed down what excately the problem is, and it is not user generated then giving feed back on Google Maps is what you should try.

It can easily be that there is a lack of consensus on the area naming. And that could cause Google to not believe anyone who tries to give feedback.

So if I were you I would not be very hopeful about getting such problems fixed any time soon. It might come back to having local authorities to decide and update their databases before it can be reflected in Google Maps.
