Uday Bilas Palace is a famous Royal Residence of Dungarpur rulers and a now a renowned heritage hotel. In fact, I consider myself lucky because I got an opportunity to live near these heritage and could live royal life.
In the 19th century, Uday Bilas and ek Thambiya palace also known as Krishna Prakash were built by the Blueish grey stones quarried from nearby areas by Maharawal Udai Singh, the patron of culture art and architecture on the bank of Lake Gaibsagar. Later in 1940 AD Maharawal Laxman Singh added three place in all the three sides of Ek Thambiya Mahal and a unique courtyard was built and center was the Krishna Prakash. This ek Thambiya Mahal is spectacular in all respects all the four sides balconied windows which are intricately carved and all the motifs are different in all the four balconies can be accessed by a cast iron’s spiral staircase. Its top is adorned by domes and cenotaphs. Famous for its royal hospitality, a perfect place for recreation, rejuvenation and Romantic ambience cater to newly married couples to start their beautiful lives means a perfect place for honeymoon.
Furnished double single and suites with royal glimpse and with all British style or European style lavish amenities and facilities. A very special swimming pool at the bank of the lake, lake side dinner arrangements, royal dinning hall and banquet to enjoy the various cuisines and beverages. The rulers here were extremely fond of hunting and the visitors are taken aback and remain surprised when they see the heads of lions, tigers, leopards and other wild animals on the walls. Original paintings and miniature paintings are also decorative murals. And to have the wine and liquor unique Bar just alone in the World that is Dungarpur Mews.
It’s a wonderful palace and open to tourists for the visit at a price of Rs.750 per person. For booking all major operators are available including hotel website. It’s a major attraction among the history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers. Still Royal family is residing in this palace.

Second photo is of Royal Dining Hall once water runs below the glass of table top and colorful lights including the chandeliers creates a romantic royal ambience.
