Historical & Mythological land of king Parikshit

TITLE
King Janamjaya and King Parikshit were two important kings of the Mahabharata era.

Discription:-

Raja Parikshit:
He was the son of Abhimanyu and Uttara. And Raja Parikshit was the successor of the Pandavas and the king of the Kuru dynasty.
And he died due to the bite of a snake named Takshak.

Raja Janmejaya:
He was the son of King Parikshit. And
To avenge his father’s death, he organized the Sarp Dahan Yagna, in which he tried to kill all the snakes.

This yagna (Hawan) is also mentioned in the Mahabharata. Which is an important text of Indian history.

The importance of Nagda:
It is believed that King Janmejaya performed this yagna at a place called Nagda (Nag+Dah).
Nagda, which is located on the banks of the Chambal River in Ujjain district, according to the Puranas, Nagda is called the city of King Janmejaya.
There is a Nag Tekri near the Mukteshwar temple on the banks of the Chambal River in Nagda, which is said to have the ashes of innumerable snakes.

Mythology:

According to the legend, millions of snakes were sacrificed in this yagna.
When the time came to sacrifice Takshak Nag in the yagna, he saved himself by hiding in the chariot of the Sun God.
And later, with the intervention of sage Astik, Janmejaya stopped the yagna, thereby averting the complete destruction of the snake race.

Hastinapur: It was a major capital of the Kuru Kingdom. It is located in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

Kurukshetra: It is a very important place in the Mahabharata.

It is located in the region of Haryana.

Parikshitgarh:
It is a town called Qila Parikshitgarh near Meerut in Uttar Pradesh, which is believed to be associated with King Parikshit.
in short, the land of King Parikshit lies in the historical and mythological geography of the Kuru Kingdom, which played an important role in ancient Indian history.
