Historic Seligman Sundries on the Famous Route 66 Road Trip

The tour of Seligman, Oatman, and Kingman on the famous Route 66 is a dream for every local guide who loves the US Wild West and the wilderness that Nevada and Arizona have to offer.

I did this trip starting from Las Vegas in June 2023.
Seligman is a Cute little town in the middle of nowhere.

Our first stop was at the Historic Seligman Sundries, previously known as Teds Famous Malts.

They had a colorful and appealing storefront that was visible from the far off with nice pastel colors and Route 66 written prominently.

I enjoyed my brief stop here while admiring the various artifacts from the bygone era of the Route 66 heydays.

In this place, there is a whole museum of cars and rare equipment from Route 66.

Old police cars, tow trucks, and motorcycles are scattered all over the place providing a visual delight.

So many events in the history of America and the lives of people are connected with this highway that probably everyone has heard or seen a film about this road.

It was great to see the American history of route 66 like a time capsule.

In addition, it is a great place for photos.

Especially a retro van with a large number of stickers pasted all over it was the most curious vehicle on display.

While the drive was long, it was worth it.

I got to see the historic Route 66 by driving on it.

We also spotted the famous Grand Canyon Train on the way.

Where to Stay

Although I did not stay here, I spotted The Postcard Motel across the street.

Accessibility

:wheelchair: They had an accessible entrance too.

Historic Seligman Sundries was a real classic place on Route 66 with plenty of history, neon signs, classic cars, and memorabilia.

Make sure to stop here while crossing Seligman and get inside!

Thank you for all of these features of Arizona @TusharSuradkar . I’m so sorry you had to be here in June! At least the Northern part of the state isn’t as bad as down in the Phoenix Valley. Glad you got your Kicks on Route 66!

It was enjoyable in June too @JustJake coming from a tropical country, the difference was not much, as long as it does not get humid.

Next summer I plan to visit cooler places in Arizona,

Are they located in the north? which places would you recommend? I will plan my trip around those places.

Also, if you don’t mind, I will try to visit your town for a little meetup, especially if there are a few interesting places around too

Thank You @Annaelisa

No, I looked up the movie, and seems to be having many episodes.

Indeed, Seligman is traveling back in time.

Wenn ich es richtig in Erinnerung habe sind es 3 Filme, aus der Gegenwart in die Zukunft, in die Vergangenheit und zurĂĽck in die Zukunft und Gegenwart.
