Last year, I visited the beautiful Morskie Oko Lake in Zakopane, Poland. It was one of the best nature experiences I’ve had, hiking in fresh cold air surrounded by the Tatra Mountains with snow patches on the peaks.
The hike:
• Around 8 km walk from the parking area to the lake.
• Easy for beginners if you take your time.
• You can take a horse carriage halfway if needed.
Why I loved it:
• The view of the lake with mountain reflections was breathtaking.
• Peaceful, clean air, and beautiful spots for photography.
• A good place to relax and disconnect from the rush of daily life.
Tip: Go early in the morning to avoid crowds and bring snacks, water, and a light jacket (weather changes quickly).
Have you visited Morskie Oko before? Share your experience, or let me know if you plan to visit!

Thank you so much Justyna and Naresh for your kind words!
I focused on visiting Zakopane and Morskie Oko this time, but I will add Krakow and Czerwone Wierchy to my list for next time!
I will update the post and add the Maps link, thank you for the reminder

@Salanazi5 The Czerwone Wierchy (Red Peaks) are a massif in the Tatra Mountains, consisting of four peaks:
- Ciemniak: (2096 m above sea level)
- Krzesanica: (2122 m above sea level) - the highest peak of the Czerwone Wierchy
- Małołączniak: (2096 m above sea level)
- Kopa Kondracka: (2005 m above sea level)
This is quite a challenging trail, you should set aside about 8-9 hours for it. But if you enjoy mountain hiking, it’s definitely worth going, especially in autumn. There’s a plant there called Skucina (Alpine pasqueflower), which looks a bit like regular grass, but in autumn, it turns entirely red. That’s where the name Czerwone Wierchy (Red Peaks) comes from
and it creates incredible views.
If you ever come to Cracow, definitely let me know! I’d love to show you around the city
