During my visit to Mamallapuram, the monolithic Nandi behind the Draupadi and Arjuna Rathas truly stood out. Carved from a single block of granite in the 7th century, this sacred bull represents devotion and strength in its most graceful form. Its smooth lines, poised posture, and subtle detailing reflect the unmatched artistry of the Pallava era. Surrounded by intricately sculpted temples, Nandi seems like a timeless guardian, silently witnessing centuries of history. The warm golden hue of the stone against the coastal sky made it perfect for photography. A serene, spiritual, and artistic gem which is definitely a highlight worth sharing!
