Hibiscus Plant

Hibiscus flower plays important role in workship of Goddess Durga. As Goddess durga likes red color saree and hibiscus flower. During the celebration of Ashtami, this flower kept close to the Maa Durga Statue at the time of workship.

My father always maintain the hibiscus plants in the garden so he can use these flower during workship. It is difficult to maintain the hibiscus plant as white colour insects will always spoil the whole plants. During winters this plants gives a lot of bright red color flower

@JanVanHaver did you like this ?

It’s nice to have some background on the plant @RishuSing . We have hibiscus also over here in Europe, I think (my wife knows more about plants than I do).

By the way: the word you wanted to use is ‘worship’ not ‘workship’ - I hope you don’t mind that I point this out, but I have a training in linguistics, so I can’t help but correcting errors ; - )

That’s quite fascinating information @RishuSing

Are these hibiscus plants of some different type?

In my region, I see tall trees for similar flowers.

Incidentally, Lord Ganesha likes those the most and the flowers are an integral part of Ganesha’s worship here.
