There is a saying, ‘a picture paints a thousand words’. Without pictures, I can’t imagine Google Maps contributions to be attractive. Photographs, in our lives are very important tools. They sometimes serve as evidence of something we did. Even you are a good writer who can describe the place in detail in the location reviews on Google Maps, without sharing photos, your reviews will not stand out. People wants to see photographs.
I love sharing photos on Google Maps. I think sharing my photos helps people get a preview of what they’re going to expect in a place. I love taking photos of the places I’ve visited and the food I’ve eaten. I think sharing beautiful and nice photos will make people more likely to visit the place.
Of course, there are some exceptions, such as places that are not allowed to take photographs.
PLACES:
Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall is one of the examples. It is located in Bangkok, Thailand. The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall is a royal reception hall within Dusit Palace. You are not allowed to take photographs inside the hall, but you can take photos outside the hall.
I was dropped by the taxi driver at the back side entrance of the hall when I went there so I had to walk to the main hall. On the way, I passed by a beautiful garden, and when I looked up, I saw the top of the main hall. The view excited me to see the Ananta Hall immediately.
I took a photograph of the Ananta Hall when I arrived at the front gate and posted it on the Google Maps. That photo, with 1,192,824 views, is my most viewed photo on Google Maps. Sadly, as I write this, it is permanently closed for public viewing.
The San Agustin Church and Museum in Manila, Philippines, was another popular tourist attractions I visited and photographed. It was an ancient historic church in Manila’s Intramuros. Within the church I took a photograph and came out beautifully. I posted it to Google Maps immediately.
FOOD:
If you’re like me, you probably take pictures of the food before eating them. Besides my passion of discovering and eating different kinds of food, taking photographs can help me in my restaurant reviews on Google Maps.
Whenever I’m in Bangkok, I always love local noodles. I use Google Maps to look for some local noodle shops that have been reviewed by other local guides. After that, I will try the restaurant food and review it myself as well.
Just some of many photos of my favorite food I’ve shared on Google Maps.
These are the two passions that I love most sharing on Google Maps, posting locations and food pictures. The readers will have ideas on the places I visited by posting pictures along with the reviews.
How about you?
