Hey everyone! It’s been a while since my last post and I was starting to missing this place!
Today I want to share with you something that happens every year in my country and that is what we called “Dìa del patrimonio” (Heritage day) and it’s not just one day but the whole weekend.
Every historical building, government office, president’s house, is open to visit. This year due to COVID a lot of places where closed or we had to previously signed up to get in.
Anthropology Museum:
Located right next to my house it was my first visit:
I hope you liked this information, and hopefully next year more place are going to be open for us to visit. Of course there were a lot of buildings that I wasn’t able to visit because I didn’t have the time but I still had fun
Welcome back to Connect, we all missed you too I enjoyed your post and nice photos of some of the open places. I can understand that with COVID-19 a lot of places where closed but when you say “every historical building, government office, president’s house, is open to visit” do you really mean every single one in Uruguay? Melbourne, Australia has a similar program called “Open House Melbourne” but usually it is a selection of places that are open and entry to many is limited to a certain number of people. I have attended some places in previous years like Government House and found such visits very interesting as you get to see inside places that are ordinarily never open to the public. I have to say that because the program runs only for a limited number of days like in your case, just the weekend, I found that it was a rush and I never got to see all that I wanted. Do you find this in your Dìa del patrimonio?
Totalmente recomendable. Me alegro lo hayas disfrutado. CUÍDATE. Saludos
@AdamGT “when you say “every historical building, government office, president’s house, is open to visit” do you really mean every single one in Uruguay?”
Yes, indeed. But this year it wasn’t that way
" I found that it was a rush and I never got to see all that I wanted. Do you find this in your Dìa del patrimonio?"
Omg yes! but I managed to create a spreadsheet with everything I wanted to visit haha. Thanks!
