To be blunt from the start, I’m only writing this as part of a competition. I really don’t know that much about being a guide, and wasn’t even aware LocalGuidesConnect existed until about 10 minutes ago.
In response to the question of what I most enjoy sharing on Google Maps is anything that is new or has changed. Living in a tourist area 30min from another tourist area, we get a lot of seasonal residents and vacationers. So, things change quickly; some places close during the winter, some places change their hours, lots of places go out of business or open new location or try different types of ventures. Since people come here to “get away from it all”, that means the internet presence in the area isn’t all that great, either, so there’s been quite a lot that doesn’t even get added in the first place. As a result, people don’t know what’s available or what to expect. Keeping things updated and listing hidden gems helps people make the most of their time here.
