Helping 50+ Drivers Through Real-Time Road Reports đźš—

Today I received a small but meaningful notification from Google Maps—it says that I’ve helped more than 50 drivers through the road reports I’ve submitted.

It may seem simple, but to me, it’s a reminder that even small contributions can create real impact. By reporting traffic, road closures, or incidents while navigating, we can help others make better decisions on the road.

In Indonesia, traffic congestion is very common, especially during peak hours. That’s why real-time reports from fellow drivers are incredibly valuable—they help others avoid traffic and find more efficient routes.

Sometimes we don’t realize how powerful a single tap on the “Report” button can be. Behind that simple action, there are people who save time, reduce stress, and even feel safer during their journey.

This motivates me to keep contributing—whether through reviews, photos, or live road updates. Because in the end, being a Local Guide is not just about points or levels, but about making a meaningful difference for others.

Have you ever received a similar notification?

Great job, @doni_hariadi! Keep up the excellent work!

Keren mas @doni_hariadi. Lanjutkan

That feature is not activated on Google Maps in my country, but I get the same congratulatory note from Waze for similar reports. I know that must make you feel really great @doni_hariadi. Keep up the good work.

thank you @Roman_Ahmmed
always make sure to focus on driving.

terima kasih bu @ririsnurbintari

Have you checked? Because when we set the destination in Google Maps, the sign automatically appears.

as an example here, I marked it with a red arrow.

Wow @doni_hariadi

This is commendable. Although we don’t have this feature here in Africa, I think it’s welcome development to have navigation on Google maps.

Happy guiding

Cheers

After clicking it will appear like this

The image shows a feature in Google Maps called “Add a report.” This tool allows users to share real-time traffic information with other drivers.

In the menu, there are several reporting options:
Crash: to report a traffic accident.
Slowdown: to indicate heavy traffic or congestion.
Police: to notify others about police presence in the area.
Construction: to report roadwork or maintenance.
Lane closure: to inform that a lane is closed.
Object on road: to warn about obstacles on the road.

This feature helps improve navigation accuracy and safety by providing up-to-date, crowd-sourced road conditions to all users.

I also want to learn a lot about the TRAC program from you sir @SholaIB ,
Maybe next time I will join, hehe…

Yes I check often. Not yet available in my country.
