Home made cuisines have always been healthy and tasty and in this time of quarantine and lockdown, we are restricted to stay at homes and cook everything on our own. So this is the recipe of “Seviya Upma”. Today I’ll share it’s recipe as it is very easy and healthy and can be cooked in minutes.
Ingredients
•1katori bambino seviya or vermicelli
•3-4 tbsp oil for cooking
•1tbsp urad dal
•1tbsp chana dal
•1/2 tbsp mustard seeds
•2-4 curry leaves
•1 green chilli
•A handful of peanuts
•1chopped onion
•1chopped capsicum
•a handful of boiled peas
•salt according to taste
•half tbsp turmeric powder
•a pinch of black pepper
•coriander leaves for garnishing
Recipe
Take a pan and add 2 glasses of water into it. Turn the gas on a medium high flame. Add vermicelli or seviya into it for boiling them. Add half tbsp of oil into it and a pinch of salt. Stir them once and wait for them to boil.
After 8-10 min they get soft and boiled take them out into a sieve and strain the water out.
Now for tempering or tadka
Take a pan and add the oil into it. Turn the gas on a medium high flame.
Now add mustard seeds, urad dal, chana daal, curry leaves and peanuts one by one into it and stir them till they clutter.
Now add chopped onion and stir till the onion turn little brown.
Now add chopped capsicum and peas.
This is the time to add spices , salt according to taste, 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper.
Now mix the spices with vegetables and cook them for 2 minutes by covering the pan with a lid.
( You can add other vegetables also like carrot, corns etc)
Now after cooking the vegetables add the boiled seviya or vermicelli into the pan and mix it well.
Your dish is ready , at last garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it.
