Happy Persian New Year: Nowruz 2022

Hi all,

Today is the Spring Equinox on 03:33 PM GMT (07:03 PM in Iran) which is the start of Iranian new year based on the most accurate calendar in the world, Iranian Calendar. We celebrate these days with a nice colorful ceremony called Nowruz.

Nowruz is one of the UNESCO cultural heritages and is celebrating in many other countries too, like Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan and these days nearly all of the world are familiar with Nowruz.

To start new Persian year we prepare a table with 7 natural things those names start with س (sounds S) and so it is called Haft-Sin. The 7 main elements of Haft-Sin are related to four elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water and all represents the nature and that we’re all part of the nature.

Before Nowruz all people around countries celebrate it, especially in Iran and also all Iranian people allover the world, try to prepare for holidays and all these efforts make the city and country happy and full of colors. You see all malls, markets and stores designed in a Nowruz theme.

During Nowruz holidays we try to visit each others and although from two years ago, the COVID-19 made the situation too hard for meeting in person, but the virtual tools still helps us to stay together. Also this year and after vaccination it seems the life is coming back to normal status so more people will visit each others.

Trip could be also one part of the holidays and after two years of semi-quarentine conditions, it will be much easier for people to travel. Nowruz is one of the best times to visit Iran.

Happy Persian New Year to all,

Happy Nowruz

Amazing and eye-catching photos of the festival @Amiran

Nowroz is celebrated in India as well by the Persian community living out here for hundreds of years, though they are all Zoarstrians.

Yes, exactly.

This is very nice to see different cultures join together during the centuries and Parsians of the India are great example of this situation. Best wishes for all Indians in this Persian new year.

Nice to hear it. Yes the time is nearly different but still very close.

Anyway if one thing be the same in different ceremonies around the world, that is happiness. So lets say happy New Year again
