Happy Mapping !!!

I just wanted to share my own experiences in exploring places and how happy that I can plug in coordinates in GPS and save it as places I have visited and be able to label them in my own small file in google maps as some of my favorite spots or want to-go spots. I am inspired by an article from @KatieMcBroom on “How to use lists on Google Maps to make life easier”, published in Local Guides Connect on December 10, 2019.

I have been using this particular application for some time now, my husband and I love traveling and exploring new places. It is nice to look back and see places that we have been with all the memories of the beauty, people, language, culture, smells of the foods, etc.

These save points are just GPS coordinates I saved for recreational purposes my husband and I use.

Below are 2 photos I captured from my saved file in Google Maps for the USA and Canada. The first photo has green place markers, this is for places I would love to visit one day. The second picture shows there are many Red Hearts, they are places I have been and I would love to go back and visit.

I like the fact that we are able to label our saved places whatever they may be, such as parks, restaurants, tourist areas, campground, etc. for our personal use or to share it with others, this is really useful.

If you are interested in how to do it, go to your Google Maps then Your Places then Saved where you can save in a file named in Your Lists or you can add a New List whatever you want to name it.

Happy Mapping !!!

Lists really do make a difference in helping you keep track of where you’ve been and where you want to go next. I’ve also used them as a to do list for places or activities I need to get done. Happy listing!!! #LocalGuidesUSA
