Possible adding multiple photos at a time to a biz is having some affect?
At least it becomes more likely that some of those photos do not show up under By Me and Recent. Several weeks ago, I was already wondering, why in many cases 2 or 3 out of 10 did not get any views. Checking some of those places, I could confirm those photos do not show under By Me.
But I also posted to places, where all ten or twelve photos did show up under By Me and all did gain views.
But it seems, this behavior is not new - we just didn’t noticed it yet. This even happened to my photo with most views, posted in June 2023 and I never found it under the pin where I uploaded it.
@MortenCopenhagen @WilfriedB this a huge problem for me. I always take at least two photos of each place, one a straight up typical shot, and another creative, angular photographic shot which imo makes the store look cool. Still a shot showing the sign, but with thought involved. This is the main reason I enjoy this hobby, since I get to utilize my skills as a photographer and also post to maps.
Are you using Google photos? If so please try uploading your pics from Google photos directly to Maps. That way they are not utilize your local band width. Just use share to Maps. That might solve your issue and it is faster in my experience.

Good morning @TerryPG Sorry, I was not clear in my description: I always saw that photo under my contributions, even when sharing that link (to My Contributions) to others and also after opening my review, but when opening the pin of POI, I never saw it under All or By Me and probably never under Recent, but at that time, I never checked it.

A couple of months ago Google implemented the limit of ten photos for uploading at once. Since that time, I consider it as some kind of guide line and always upload ten, if I have a sufficient number of non-redundant pictures.
Until now, I never tracked which does appear under By Me and Recent, but Steven’s post triggered me to do so.
Since several months, I do watch closely which of my photos, if any, show some views quickly and what are those, which do not not. I don’t consider it as a problem, if some show only very few or no views at all. Instead it is interesting to me, trying to figure out, why this might be the case.
Being listed under Recent (or Menu Lists, Food, … etc) or being featured at the top of the list(s) seems to be a good reason for getting more views. But extremely important is the number users searching that place daily. This is something, Google certainly knows very well, but we can only guess.
Update:
Checking more of my recent posts, I saw several times 2-3 out of 10 or 1 out of 5 do not appear under By Me and those are exactly those with no views.
This can either be a bug or purposely done as some kind of “soft hiding”, i.e. the media is public in the sense that you can share a link to others without seeing “no user media here” and (guessing) the photo could be even selected by Google to appear on a geographic feature (like it happened to me last year), but you won’t never be able to see it when opening the listing where it was posted.
And one more:
Today I posted ten photos and only eight appear under Recent and By Me.
I just uploaded this morning two more solo photos, and neither went anywhere. About to give up on all this. And to think I just took 3 months off, and come back to this. Shrug.

Tracking all my photos in detail since early April, I never saw something like that. Sometimes, it might take longer than other times or some don’t appear under By Me or Recent as described above, but all went public except for very few photos (less than 1%) being rejected and marked that way immediately. There is only one, which was rejected 9 months after posting. I submitted an appeal, but still waiting …
