Gurudwara Shree Guru Singh Sabha is one of my favorite places for peace in the hustle and bustle of this metro city Kolkata. I have already posted some pictures of this Gurudwara Sahib at this Guru Nanak Gurpurab post, you can check that out. Whenever I get an opportunity I visit this Gurdwara for prayers. It was established in 1930 and situated at 31, Rash Behari Ave, Anami Sangha, Kalighat, Kolkata 700026.
I am writing this post as December is a month of supreme sacrifice. This motherland always remembers the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and especially his four sons popularly known as
Chaar Sahibzaade. The names of the Chaar Sahibzaade are also mentioned on Gurudrawa’s walls.
This Gurdwara also has a library, senior citizen resting room, and washrooms on the ground floor. Of course, like other religious places, it also has room for guests where you can go and stay.
From my personal experience, I can say that when I visited here for the first time, I didn’t know where the prayer place was located, where are the washrooms, etc, the people there helped me a lot with these, their behavior is so humble and kind, even when I went out, I have seen the people of this Gurdwara telling the road directions to the new people.
If I talk about accessibility, the wheelchair is accessible to the ground floor but I couldn’t find any way to access the first floor where the main player place is located. You can park a four-wheeler outside this Gurdwara, but it will be problematic if many people come with a four-wheeler. So I would recommend avoiding using cars, especially on festival days.
