Amritsar is a sacred pilgrimage among devotees and followers of Sikhism. Gurudwara Bibekasar Sahib is one such sacred pool and gurudwara.
It’s a very Sacred place situated close to the Sri Darbar Sahib. Bibeksar water pond’s foundation stone was laid by Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and it was completed in 1628 AD. Adjacent to the sacred pool Gurdwara was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji. Bibeksar is Sacred Pond one among the five located in Amritsar.
Baba Hargobind Sahib Ji was fond of visiting this place for relaxing and recreation and after construction of the tank he used to sit at the edge of this tank. He used to discuss with his followers. And he used to train the followers for battle against the invaders and Mughals. After entering to this place he used to tie his horse to a tree which still exists. It might have got its name Bibekasar due to prudent discussions which were held here. And Gurdwara got its name due Bibeksar Sacred Pond and it’s built at the same sight where the Sixth Guru Baba Hargobind Sahib Ji used to rest.
It’s a holy place of worship and it’s a major attraction among the devotees history buffs wanderers soulseekers heritage art and architecture lovers. It’s one of the major attraction among the cultue and tradition lovers.
